Production steps for type-c connectors
Do you understand the production process of common Type-C connectors such as mobile phone interfaces, digital camera interfaces, and scanner interfaces? The production process of Type-C connectors can be roughly divided into four stages:
1、 Stamping
2、 Electroplating
3、 Injection molding
4、 Assembly
1、 Stamping
Usually, the manufacturing of Type-C connectors starts with stamping pins, i.e. stamping hardware, and passes through large stamping machines, commonly known as high-speed punches. The hardware on the Type-C connector, when not punched, is a very thin roll of copper tape that is stamped as needed according to the drawing, resulting in the required pins for the product.
2、 Electroplating
After the Type-C connector is stamped, the next step is electroplating. Generally, the Type-C connector manufacturer will send the stamped hardware to a professional electroplating factory, which can perform different types of electroplating according to customer requirements, such as gold plating, silver plating, nickel plating, tin plating, etc. (The gold and silver here are used for industry)
3、 Injection molding
The Type-C connector base is a plastic base that requires injection molding. Firstly, melt the plastic sub material, then place it in a metal mold, quickly cool it, and finally form it.

4、 Assembly
The final step of the Type-C connector is assembly, connecting the electroplated metal parts to the base. We say it is inserted with a PIN, and there are two methods: separately inserting and combining inserting. Single insertion refers to only one pin can be inserted each time a PIN pin is inserted. The combination insertion method involves inserting multiple PIN pins into a base at the same time.
The above four steps are the production process of Type-C connectors. Although it may be simple to say, the actual operation is much more complex. Don't look at how small a Type-C connector is. From raw materials to finished products, it needs to go through layer after layer of processing, which includes the sweat and wisdom of workers.
